Bahati has over 20 years of investment experience in Investment Banking, Financial Controls, Mergers & Acquisition Finance, Private Equity, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Manufacturing, Agri-business, Public Accounting and Project management and post investment development impact evaluation and monitoring.

Bahati’s work experience cuts across multiple jurisdictions in the USA and Sub-Saharan Africa.  She has held key strategic roles such as Corporate Finance & Treasury lead, Financial Controller & Reporting, Financial Systems Valuation Engineer, Principal Investment Officer, Structured Capital Markets.

Having worked on transactions ranging from $5 million to over $2 billion, Bahati has acquired extensive experience in accounting, financial management, equity market, resource mobilisation, treasury funding, venture capital financing, infrastructure project finance, loan syndications, and debt capital market funding activities.

Bahati has sat on multiple investment evaluation committees and boards providing expert guidance on investment opportunity appraisals across the African continent and globally.

She has a track record and transaction expertise in energy, telecoms, mining and agriculture, financial services sectors as well as development finance institutions and nonprofit foundations and organisations.

Bahati is a Chartered Accountant registered with South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (“SAICA”) and is a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) in the state of Virginia, United States.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and Commercial Law from Rhodes University, South Africa and a Bachelor of commerce (Hons) degree in Accounting from University of Natal Durban in South Africa. Bahati is also a member of the African Women Chartered Accounts in South Africa (AWCA).
